LEARNING AND TEACHING
Pending VRQA approval, we intend to begin accepting students in 2024.
The transformative learning process at Corner Inlet College is designed to help our students grow both in and out of the classroom. Each day is filled with opportunities to experience nature-based educational experiences, and social-constructivism. Our teachers create a safe and open setting, where they can guide students in exploring the world around them.
Corner Inlet College delivers an Integrated Inquiry-based learning program. Eight key curriculum areas are carefully incorporated into units of work embedded with academic rigour.
Corner Inlet College will establish a Student Support Group (SSG) for each student at the commencement of each year. SSGs consist of the student, parent/guardians, wellbeing coordinator, a teacher and Principal, or Principal’s representative. The purpose of SSG meetings is to establish personal, social and academic goals for students. These goals are documented in and Individual Education Plan (IEP), which are reviewed at the end of every term by the student and teacher.
STUDENT DEVELOPMENT REPORTING
Corner Inlet College provides a Student Development Report (SDR) to parents and guardians at the end of each semester. CIC includes a five-point scale to assess each of the eight Key Learning Areas against student Inquiry Based Learning; English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, The Arts, Technologies, Health and Physical Education, Outdoor Recreation, and Languages. The SDR includes written comments relating to student development according to their Individual Education Plan.
